Umka: Math for Screen Time | Last updated August 1, 2026
Child answers, performance, learning history, adaptive state, nickname, parent PIN, and selected app data stay on this device. The current version has no account, advertising, or remote analytics.
The short version: Umka does not receive child learning or selected app data. Apple keeps the names of app selections hidden from Umka. Deleting the app deletes its local data.
Information we do not collect
The current version does not collect or transmit any of the following to us:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or contact information
- Location data
- Browsing history, search history, or app usage reports
- Advertising or marketing identifiers
- Analytics, crash data, or diagnostics sent off the device
Umka contains no advertising. The current version has no third-party analytics SDK.
Information stored only on your device
To do its job, Umka saves the following in its private on-device storage, including an Apple App Group container. This information is not sent to Umka or to a remote analytics service:
- A child nickname and grade band, entered by the parent during setup
- The parent's time rules and app settings
- The parent's app selection, stored as opaque Apple tokens that the app cannot read
- Answers, correctness, performance, learning history, adaptive state, and records of learning breaks
- The optional parent PIN, stored securely on the device
How Umka uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks
Umka uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks only for their intended purpose: to pause the specific apps a parent selects when approved time is used up, and to restore them when a learning break is earned. The app receives only opaque tokens from Apple. It cannot see which apps were selected, and it never receives browsing or usage histories. Umka does not lock the whole device; only parent-selected apps are affected.
Children's privacy
Umka is intended to be installed and configured by a parent or guardian. Child answers, performance, learning history, adaptive state, nickname, and selected app data remain on the device and are not shared with Umka or a remote analytics service.
Data retention and deletion
All information is stored locally on your device. You can erase it at any time from within the app in Parent settings, and deleting Umka from your device permanently removes its local data.
Changes to this policy
If Umka later adds limited analytics for parent setup or subscriptions, this policy, the App Store privacy disclosure, and the last updated date will be revised before that version is released. Child learning and selected app data will remain outside remote analytics.

Direct privacy contact details will be published here before Umka is released.
