Umka gives children approved time in the apps a parent chooses. When that time finishes, those apps pause, and a short math practice can open a parent-set extra break.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set up Umka?
Open the app and follow the guided setup. A parent allows Screen Time access, chooses which apps to manage, sets the daily approved time and learning break, and creates a parent PIN.
Does Umka lock the whole phone or iPad?
No. Umka only pauses the specific apps a parent selected. Other apps and device functions stay available.
How does my child earn an extra break?
When approved time is finished, the child can start a short learning break and answer a few math questions. Enough correct answers can open the amount of extra time the parent set, within the daily break limit.
Why does Umka need Screen Time access?
Umka uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks to pause and restore the apps a parent selected. Apple provides opaque tokens, so Umka does not receive readable app identities from those selections.
Is my family's data private?
Child answers, performance, learning history, adaptive state, nickname, parent PIN, and selected app data stay on the device and outside remote analytics. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I reset local data?
The Parent area includes an option to reset local data and run setup again. Deleting the app removes its local data from the device.
What Umka does not monitor
Umka does not monitor messages, browsing history, location, or full device activity. It is a focused routine around selected apps, not a surveillance dashboard.
